This Working Group is established in order to enhance communication among the Materials and Processes organizations within NASA leading to common and cost effective policy, requirements, standards, and implementation procedures. A goal of this effort is to improve or help maintain the production of reliable space - hardware. As part of this Charter, the Working Group will address common activities and problems of general interest. Means to improve NASA Materials and Processes will be prioritized. In addition, there will be coordination with other relevant NASA organizations and non-NASA space-related Materials and Processes organizations. Technology transfer is to be considered an important attribute of the work carried out by this Working Group.
